WHY IS THIS HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN IMPORTANT?
This health and safety plan is important and it will be included in the health and safety file and includes the required contents and documents pertaining to the contractor and contractors’ scope of work. These details can be then used to plan and carry out actions to resolve any issues identified affecting safety concerns in the workplace aligned to the health and safety file. This health and safety plan also provides evidence to an inspector that the correct applicable health and safety file contents are addressed concerning workplace safety, meaning the employer is being compliant in checking the workplace and proactive in identifying new concerns and resolving these. In cases where a safety issue may occur, the health and safety may be important as evidence to show workplace safety concerns are managed, where legal concerns or financial claims may be involved.
WHO NEEDS THIS HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN
This health and safety plan is intended for all mandatory, contractors and sub-contractors who must comply with the principal’s contractor’s health and safety specifications and wish to maintain their health and safety systems on their sites in order to ensure these remain effective in addressing all health and safety concerns.
VALIDITY
The health and safety plan must be kept on site in the health and safety file and made available to any interested parties who may wish to see it or refer to it at a later time.
