PROHIBITORY SIGNAGE DETAILS
Prohibitory signs can be easily identified by their design: a black pictogram on a white circle with a red border and a 45 degree red stripe. They are used to indicate that certain behaviours or conditions are prohibited on the premises.
This prohibitory sign is the "No Cellphone Permitted" sign (code - PV27), whose pictogram is a black cellphone prohibited to inform employees (and other persons) that no cellphones are permitted in this area (flammable stores, areas where flammable vapours or dusts are present, petrol stations, etc). This sign can be used singly on its own or in combination with other prohibitory signs, depending upon what circumstances may require. For example:
No Smoking (PV1)
No Fires or Open Flames (PV2)
This sign is constructed from ABS plastic and has the dimensions 290mm x 290mm.
WHO NEEDS TO USE THESE PROHIBITORY SIGNS?
These prohibitory signs are required by companies where there may be actions or conditions on their premises that must be prohibited that are not currently indicated so that these can be indicated and easily identified and persons on the premises can be made aware of their need to comply with these prohibitions.

These prohibitory signs are important because they create awareness to persons on the premises of the prohibition of certain behaviours, actions or conditions in the interests of health and safety while in these areas. Their use allows prohibitory requirements to be indicated quickly and easily.
This also provides evidence to an inspector that an organisation is creating awareness of the prohibition of certain behaviours, actions or conditions in certain areas in order to ensure healthy and safe conditions are maintained and is therefore complying with legislation in this respect.
