WHAT IS THIS THERMOMETER FOR?
This thermometer is used to determine the temperature of persons entering the workplace as part of the controls required to proactively control and prevent the exposure to and spread of COVID-19 in the workplace, allowing an employer to comply with the Department of Employment and Labour's directive to manage COVID-19 in the workplace.
WHY IS THIS THERMOMETER IMPORTANT
This thermometer is important because it allows persons entering the workplace to be quickly and easily screened for possible COVID-19 infection, acting as one of the precautionary measures to be taken by an organisation to proactively prevent the exposure to and spread of COVID-19 in the workplace. Among common symptoms of the virus are the symptoms of fever and the taking of a person's temperature on entry to the premises, allows a rudimentary check to be made to determine if the person does have an elevated temperature (a symptom of fever).
The recording of temperatures forms part of the entry checks of a person on a set of premises and this provides evidence to an inspector that the organisation has taken appropriate measures to prevent the exposure to and spread of COVID-19.
